About

Wee Jia Foong (Foong) is a media artist, educator, and technology enthusiast based in Kuala Lumpur. Working across installations, audiovisual media, and performance, his practice moves between personal studio work and technical production. Alongside developing his own audiovisual practice, he is often engaged as a technologist, designing systems and infrastructure for immersive and interactive environments, as well as supporting show and performance systems across different contexts.

Foong works fluidly between solo studio practice and collaboration with practitioners across art, film, music, theatre, and technology. Outside of his practice, he loves exploring new tools, gear, and playful technologies—testing and reworking them into creative audiovisual expressions. He enjoys teaching and organising workshops on technology, including topics such as TouchDesigner.
His current focus is on TEKKA, an audiovisual festival dedicated to art, music, and technology.
